How to reach Urbino
Urbino is a city in central Italy, located about 200 km northeast of Rome.
It can be reached by car or public transportation.
- If you come by car:
A14 motorway:
- From North: Pesaro-Urbino exit > SS. 746 (∼35 km)
- From South: Fano exit > SS. 73bis (∼45 km)

- If you come by public transportation:
By train
You can reach Urbino by arriving at the Pesaro railway station, and then continue by bus (recommended) or taxi. Public bus transportation service is operated by Adriabus, with buses leaving every 30 minutes (at 00 and 30 of each hour). To go to Urbino from Pesaro you have to take the Linea Verde, while to go to Pesaro from Urbino you have to take the Linea Rossa. The travel time from Pesaro (Pesaro Station) to Urbino (Urbino S. Lucia park) is 55 minutes and the ticket price is 3,90€. Alternatively, the same route can be covered by taxi (to be booked in advance) in about 45 minutes.

By plane
You can reach Urbino by landing at the airports of Ancona, Rimini, Bologna and Rome. The nearest airport is in Ancona (∼87 km). The nearest international airport is Bologna (∼178 km). From Bologna Airport, you can reach the Bologna central station with the People Mover (10 minutes) and then Pesaro by train (1 hour and 40 minutes). If you arrive at Ancona Airport or at Rimini airport, you have to reach the railway station by a bus (quick connection, every 15 minutes in both cases) and then take a train to Pesaro. If you arrive at Rome Airport (Fiumicino), you must go to Roma-Termini railway station by train (very quick and frequent connections by train) and then you take a train from Roma-Termini to Ancona and Pesaro. In any case, the route from Pesaro to Urbino must then be done by Bus or Taxi.
How to reach Palazzo Battiferri
Coming from Pesaro station by bus, the closest stop is Urbino S. Lucia. Once you get to the bus terminal, you have to take the elevator to the historic center (up to the 6th floor) and then another elevator to the 10th floor. Leaving the mall, you will be in front of Porta Santa Lucia, which is just a 15-minute walk from the University. The route to take is as follows (https://shorturl.at/sNTY7).
